Greetings Tiger Nation--
My name is Edward Lozano and I am the Athletic Coordinator of Tex Hill Middle School. I am married to my beautiful wife, Tina, who is an Administrator in the district. We have six children ranging in ages from 18-28. As the Athletic Coordinator at Tex Hill Middle School, I will bring a focus on honesty, integrity, and most of all hard work.
During my coaching and educational career I have taught and coached in several different districts and on both of the secondary levels. I have worked in Garland ISD, Edgewood ISD, and finally North East ISD where I have been for the past 12 years. In my years with NEISD, I have taught and coached at Jackson Middle School, Eisenhower Middle School, and Robert E. Lee High School.
When coaching a sport, a coach must examine each athlete individually and identify the athlete’s strengths and weaknesses. At Tex Hill Middle School, we will work with the athletes to learn their strengths and encourage them to reach new heights in developing their skills. Bertice Berry, PhD. says, “The student with the biggest attitude is the student with the biggest insecurity.” We understand that our athletes have many things to learn and our job will be to work through those insecurities as students, athletes and leaders. We will encompass the Tex Hill model of reaching new boundaries through hard work, integrity, and leadership.
I feel honored and privileged to be a part of the Tex Hill community, and am very excited about helping to develop the traditions that have become Tex Hill Middle School. I know that the athletes I work with are students first and foremost and it will be our goal to emphasize the importance of academics while we also work to develop strong athletics at the middle school level. While it is true that we will develop the team philosophy through athletics, please understand that we are also working as a team to build your child’s foundation for success in whatever endeavor their path takes them.
Getting down to the basics is one way that coaches are able to get through to athletes and build that foundation. Our coaches at Tex Hill Middle School will review skills and drills that athletes have previously worked on as well as implement new strategies to bring the athletes to a new level. At Tex Hill Middle School, we will focus on fundamentals, technique, and getting our athletes prepared for competition where inevitably success will follow.
It’s A Great Day To Be A Tiger!
